Barbara George, 83, of Ashley passed away peacefully on Monday afternoon, December 2, 2024, at Pickaway Manor in Circleville, surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 22, 1940, in Columbus, Ohio to the late Paul and Gladys (Thornton) Gersper.
During a progressive euchre game, she met the love of her life Roger George. Together they shared 43 years of marriage until his passing on January 1, 2023.
Barbara worked for an office research company for 15 years and then later in housekeeping at Mt. Carmel Hospital. She attended the Fargo Wesleyan Church. A wonderful, caring and loving mother and grandmother, she was a hard worker and homemaker. Her life centered around her family. She was "mom" to many more than just her own. She was the "life of the party" and enjoyed playing pranks. Her favorite place to visit was Tennessee.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Michael (Karen) McCann of Smithfield, Virginia, Kevin (Shelly) McCann of Splendora, Texas, Trina Johnston of Laurelville, Sharon (Ray) Adkins of Laurelville, and Elizabeth Nelson of Greenfield, Maine; 19 grandchildren, Joe (Alexis), Willie, Chris, Tommy (Frannie), Sarah, Jesse (Levi), Josh (Katrina), David "Clyde" (Buffy), Logan (Maddie), Michael, Benjamin, Dustin, Melissa, Samantha, William, Darren, Mike, Rebecca, and Matthew; numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Dr. Paul (Freda) Gersper; sister, Gladys Kinder; numerous nieces and nephews.
"We Love You A Bushel and a Peck."
