Barbara Isenberg Obituary

Barbara Anne (Dain) Isenberg passed away on June 12th, 2025 at ARMC in Ashtabula, OH with her family by her side. Barbara, age 87, was born October 9th, 1937 in Cleveland, OH and was adopted by her parents Daniel and Agnes Dain.
Barbara attended school in Pierpont and later earned her GED in her late 40's. In her youth she was a cheerleader and talented accordion player and was invited to perform on the Gene Carroll Show. She worked in the local greenhouses, potato fields, and flower nurseries. Barbara married Robert Joseph Isenberg in 1954 on her favorite holiday- Halloween. They spent 62 wonderful years together until Robert's passing in 2016. She was a dedicated mother and foster mother, having 5 children of her own and welcoming in 21 foster children over the years.
Barbara was the ultimate hobbyist and enjoyed ceramics, gardening, garage sales, crochet, video games, square dancing, puzzles, and card games. She was a recipe tester and the family's experimental chef. In her free time, she enjoyed being an "unpaid recliner coach" for the Guardians, watching every game. During family game nights, she played the important role of "rule enforcer," which she did not take lightly. She had a knack for handing out nicknames, each one funnier than the last.
To say it simply, there never would have been enough time or enough moments to spend with someone so loved.
Barbara is survived by her loving family, Children: Thomas Isenberg (Linda), Joseph Isenberg (Debi), Christopher Isenberg (Linda), Robert S. Isenberg (Melissa), and Melissa OConnell (Keith). Grandchildren: Thomas II, Tisha, Sheena, Travis, Shannon, Nicole, Tayler, and Hillary. Great Grand Children: Jordan, Remy, Trenton, Aubrey, Aiden, Jayden, and Josie. Great-greats: Kinsley, Carson, and Novellee. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Daniel and Agnes Dain, her beloved husband Robert Isenberg, and their dogs Trinket, Minnie, and Lulu.
Calling hours will be held on Friday June 20th, 2025 from 10:00am -12:00pm and Memorial services will begin at 12:00pm at Childs-Williams-Ducro Funeral Home 1071 OH-7 Pierpont, OH 44082. Graveside services to follow at Evergreen Cemetery 1001 Cemetery Rd. Pierpont, OH 44082. *Feel free to join us in wearing animal print or Guardians gear in honor of Barbara, she would have loved it!
