Barbara Joan Magby, 88, died August 7, 2025, at her home in Burrton. She was born on June 30, 1937, in Hutchinson, to Andrew and Anna May (Sturgeon) Fisher. Barbara graduated, as the valedictorian of her class, from Hutchinson High School in 1955. She worked as a roller-skating carhop at B & D Drive-In throughout high school. Barbara worked in assembly for both Mid Continent Cabinetry and Hehr Glass Company, Newton. She enjoyed camping and fishing at Kanopolis, Cheney and Wilson Lakes with her husband and family. Barbara liked tending to her vegetable and flower garden and playing bingo. She attended SaltCity Cowboy Church, South Hutchinson. On January 12, 1956, Barbara married Glen Edward Magby, in Hutchinson. Barbara is survived by: husband of over 69 years, Glen Magby, of Burrton; children, Jeff Magby of Hutchinson, Stacey (Shawn) White of McPherson, Julie (Randy) Flickinger of Hutchinson; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and brother, Francis Fisher Sr. of Lakeland, FL. She was preceded in death by: her parents, Andrew and Anna May Fisher; sisters, Virginia Bowman and Stella Ban; brothers, Gary Fisher and Dean Fisher; and one great-grandchild. Memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Elliott Mortuary, with Pastor Montie McFerrin officiating. Friends may sign her book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Friday through Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary. Memorials are suggested to the Barbara J. Magby Memorial Fund, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501. To benefit the Barbara J. Magby Memorial Fund, please make the checks payable to Elliott Mortuary.
