Edward Polsky Obituary

Edward M. Polsky, 84, of Aston passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at Riddle Memorial Hospital.
They were together for 27 years but had a love that spanned for over 58. Ed and Mary Ann were the definition of love. Ed Polsky was not an easy man. Born the son of Elizabeth Stermer and Harry Polsky, born and raised in West Philadelphia. Due to his parent's divorce at the age of 13, Ed learned to be a man early in life. Ed was hard working man. He went to school at Dobbins Institute for Electronics; his hero was Thomas Edison.
Ed was a Vietnam Vet, doing what was asked of him by his country and was a part of a Team MAC 7, stationed in Chu Lia 1965, a defense group that was in Vietnam when the United States of America would not admit it was involved there. Ed spent many years explaining to his family he was not soldier but a lover, and not a fighter. He often said I went to war so my children didn't have to. Ed was as tough as they come. A man who tossed out one liners as fast as a back hands to the back of Mark's head when the flashlight wasn't shining properly on what they were working on: cars or the family house. At the same time, Ed had a heart of gold, A fantastic father who taught and represented so much about life. A father, and husband. A model of discipline for his children to follow. An example of what was needed to be successful as an adult. "Work comes first" "Do what's Right". Building on his electrical knowledge, he taught himself HVAC. Ed went without lunches, fancy clothes and extras. Edward sacrificed his needs to ensure his family had clothes on our backs, full bellies and a roof over their heads. And all the extras they needed to be successful in life. It's what he lived for. A true family man.
Late in life, as Ed became a grandfather, a more mellow man. He was a Grandpa, he was Pop Pop. He loved his grand kids. Emma, Liam and Braedon were what lit him up inside. He was quick to offer a helping hand whenever it was needed with his grandchildren. His living room became a playroom, and his walls became an art gallery. Showing Liam what tools were about, and enjoying true crime shows with Emma, and watching over Braedan and enjoying watching him grow to be an amazing young athlete. Pop pop was a title he loved. Ed became a new man and had a new role when his grandkids entered his life. A true Grandfather, Pop Pop was a title he loved.
As he got older, he and his oldest son Mark, spent hours fishing on Green Lane Reservoir. Between fishing and diner breakfasts, Mark said he was lucky enough to understand Ed as a man. Ed was the Polsky family hero. Now he is with his love Mary Ann, he is truly whole man again.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Harry Polsky and Elizabeth (Stermer) and his beloved wife Mary Ann (Luther) Polsky who passed in 1995.
Survivors: three children: Mark Polsky, Margaret "Margie" Zugaro, and Michael Polsky and three grandchildren: Emma, Liam, and Braedon.
Gathering time: Friday, October 24, 2025, at 10:45 AM at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, 1600 Sproul Road, Springfield, Pennsylvania. We will meet guests in the main parking lot by the cemetery chapel to formulate a procession to the graveside.
