Barry Ladale Blailock, a cherished husband, father, and devout Christian, passed away on November 2, 2025, at the age of 75 in
Snellville, GA. Born on November 21, 1949, in Kosciusko, MS, Barry was a man whose life was marked by kindness, generosity, and a warm sense of humor that endeared him to all who knew him.
Barry's journey through life was one of steadfast love and commitment to his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Chelly Jones Blailock; and his son, Byron Christopher (Chris) Blailock; his mother, Flossie (Dell) Blailock; his sisters, Barbara Polson (William Robert) and Amanda (Carol) Pangburn; and numerous nieces and nephews also share in the legacy of his love. Barry's life was touched by sorrow with the passing of his son, Bradley R. Blailock; his father, William V. Blailock; and his eldest sister, Blanche Wade.
A proud graduate of Greenville High School in Greenville, MS, Barry furthered his education at the University of Mississippi, where he studied business administration and was an active member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity. His professional life was a testament to his work ethic and leadership, as he began his career in commercial banking in Atlanta, GA, at Pacific Finance Company. Barry's career was a journey of growth and success, leading him to the position of Vice President of Operations at the Commercial Credit Company in Baltimore, MD. His dedication and expertise brought him back to Atlanta, where he held significant roles at several esteemed financial institutions, including Concord Commercial, Orix Financial, OFC Capitol Corporation, Mid-Country Bank, the CIT Group, Magnet Bank, and Regions Bank.
Barry's faith in Jesus Christ was the cornerstone of his life. He was an active member of Church on Main (First Baptist Church Snellville), where he served as the Chairman of the Deacon body for several years. His love for the Lord was evident in his passion for playing the guitar, listening to country gospel music, and serving his church community.
As a man who lived his faith, Barry often reflected on the words of the Apostle Paul, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." (2 Timothy 4:7). This scripture not only inspired him but also perfectly encapsulates the life he led-a life full of purpose, service, and unwavering faith.
Barry's legacy is one of love, laughter, and the joy of giving. He was a beacon of light to his family, friends, and colleagues, and his memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have been part of his life's journey. As we celebrate Barry's life and mourn his passing, we take solace in knowing that he is now at peace, free from the pain of his battle with metastatic melanoma, and resting in the arms of his Lord and Savior.
Barry Ladale Blailock's life was a beautiful melody of faith, family, and friendship, and though his physical presence will be greatly missed, the harmony of his influence will resonate for generations to come.
