Barry Wayne Green, 61 of Melrose, New Mexico, passed away on June 26, 2025.
Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at the First Baptist Church in Melrose. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM with Brother D. and Tyler Eanes officiating. Burial will follow in Melrose Cemetery under the direction of Steed Todd Funeral Home.
Barry was born in Clovis, New Mexico on April 19, 1964 to Homer and Anna Mae (Hester) Green. He went to school and graduated from Melrose High School. He married the love of his life, Kim Leeder, on July 18, 1986 in Farwell, Texas and they spent 38 years in love and life together. He loved football, was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan and enjoyed announcing Melrose football games on Friday nights. He also had many hunting adventures.
Barry was a Deacon at Melrose First Baptist Church and was bold in his faith. His happiest place was always right in the middle of his people - whether it was quiet moments with his wife, being the big soft-hearted "Papa Bear" to his grandkids, or teaming up with his son-in-law to give his daughter a hard time. That was his joy - laughter, love, and always being at the heart of it all.
Barry is preceded in death by his parents Homer Alton Green and Anna Mae Hester Green.
He is survived by his wife Kim of Melrose, his daughter Elizabeth West and husband Adam, and his grandkids Clancy West and Kennedy West, all of Ft. Sumner, New Mexico, three sisters Linda, Karen and Shelly, along with many beloved family and friends.
