Barton Ziegler Obituary

Barton Ziegler, 73, of Elizabethtown, passed away on February 20th in Hershey surrounded by family and friends. He was born in Pottstown to Barton and Arlene Ziegler on July 8th, 1951.
He went on to Elizabethtown College where he met his wife, Kathie. They were married June
18th, 1977 in Chatham, NJ. He worked as an insurance agent for Olweiler Insurance agency for 43 years. He was a partner and owner for many of those years. He was active member of the community; involved with the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary and Optimist clubs. He was named the top insurance agent in Lancaster County in both 2019 and 2020 by Lancaster County Magazine. He earned and maintained his CIC and CPCU professional designations.
Bart loved to travel and was avid golfer. For many years he owned a Harley Davidson motorcycle which he took on a cross-country trip in 2009. He was a lifelong fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies and Penn State Football.
Bart is survived by his wife Kathie, his children Christopher (Aimee Furey) and Garrett (Kristy), his brother Scott (Leslie Stross), sister Barbara Payne (John), and grandsons Owen and Charlie. Bart is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Glenn.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025 in the John S. Sell Memorial Chapel, Masonic Village, Elizabethtown, PA 17022 at 11:00 AM. Visitation with family will from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family.
