Beatrice Welborn, born on August 30, 1931, in Mobile, Alabama, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2025, in Groves, Texas. She was a beloved figure in her community and will be fondly remembered for her warmth, dedication, and talents.
Beatrice devoted twenty years of her professional life working as a custodian at Little Cypress-Mauriceville I.S.D., where she earned the respect and admiration of students and staff alike. Her work ethic was matched only by her passion for cooking. Known as a fabulous cook, Beatrice found immense joy in preparing meals for her family, her church, and others in the community. Her culinary creations were a source of comfort and delight to many.
Beyond her professional life, Beatrice cherished her time with family. She enjoyed going on cruises and visiting Branson, Missouri, experiences that enriched her life and those around her. As a proud member of the Cowboy Church in Orange, Texas, she dedicated herself to her faith and the community, embodying the spirit of service and compassion.
Beatrice was preceded in death by her husbands, Leonard Musgrove and William Welborn; her parents, William and Minnie Lee; and her many siblings, seven brothers and five sisters.
She leaves behind a loving family who will miss her dearly: her son, James Musgrove, and his wife, Lynette; her sister, Flomae Lee; her brother, William Lee; her grandchildren, Scott Musgrove and his wife, April, and Mike Musgrove and his wife, Jayme; and her great-grandchildren, Dillon Musgrove, Macie Musgrove, McCoy Musgrove, Mason Musgrove, and Morgan Musgrove. Additionally, she is survived by a host of loving nieces and nephews who treasured her deeply.
A visitation will be held on July 10, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, followed by a funeral service beginning at 10:00 AM at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, 2001 Nall Street, Port Neches, Texas 77651.
Beatrice Welborn’s legacy of love, dedication, and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital.
