Mrs. Becky Jane Costilow Adams, 70, of Grenada, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, July 12, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service, with Dr. Brent Barker and Rev. J. Barry Worrell officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Grenada. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Monday evening, and also one hour prior to the service on Tuesday, all at McKibben and Guinn. Becky was born on October 5, 1954, in Grenada to Clarence and Mary Frances Alexander Costilow. A gifted student, she was an honor graduate and Valedictorian of her class at J.Z. George High School, completing her studies in just three years. She earned her Associate's Degree in Nursing from Mississippi Delta Community College and became a registered nurse at the age of 18. She later received her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Mississippi College. Her nursing career spanned over 50 years, a testament to her deep commitment to caring for others. A devoted member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and the Fortenberry Sunday School Class, Becky's faith in the Lord was the guiding force in her life. She was a talented pianist, singer, teacher, and missionary, having served in Ukraine, Thailand, and other regions. A voracious reader of God's Word and of Christian writers, Becky also enjoyed writing and had several articles published in Christian publications throughout the years. Becky was also a former member of the Gideons Auxiliary. In 1996, Becky realized a lifelong dream when she founded Graceland of Grenada Assisted Living, the first facility of its kind in the area. Before construction began, she and her pastor walked the perimeter of the property, praying for its success - prayers that were answered in abundance. Becky worked tirelessly to ensure each resident received compassionate, high-quality care. She even collaborated with the state legislature to help establish policies for the burgeoning assisted living industry. Later, she transformed Rosemont/Graceland North into The Terraces, an independent senior living facility. Her passion for elder care never wavered, and she remained active in the Chamber of Commerce and in advocacy for seniors throughout her career. Becky is survived by her beloved husband, Ken Adams; four daughters: Tammie Goss (Spence), Terri Blaylock (Jason), Tiffany Clark (David), and Tina Cousino (Ricky); her sister, Laverne Palmertree; ten grandchildren: Sara Taylor Lott (Bailey), Aubrey Goss (Anna Claire), Peyton Goss (Mari Lois), Luke Goss, Dawson Clark, Tyler Clark, Reid Blaylock, Rhett Blaylock, Drake Carpenter, and Cohen Carpenter; and six great-grandchildren: Spencer Grace Lott, Baylor Lott, Briggs Goss, Parker Goss, Samuel Banks Lott, and Millie Ann Goss. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Donna Gail Costilow; and her brother, James David Costilow. Pallbearers will be Reid Blaylock, Rhett Blaylock, Dawson Clark, Tyler Clark, Aubrey Goss, Corley Goss, Luke Goss, and Bailey Lott. Honorary pallbearers will be Drake and Cohen Carpenter. Memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church or to Gideons International. The family wishes to express sincere appreciation to Pastor Brent and all her friends at Emmanuel Baptist Church for their love and prayers. Also, special thanks is extended to Adoration Hospice for the wonderful care Becky and the family received during her illness.
