Belinda Dickey Obituary

Belinda Dickey

Sep 12, 1950 - Jul 6, 2025

Belinda Gayle Dickey, age 74, of Waco, Texas, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, July 6, 2025. She was born on September 12, 1950, in Baird, Texas, in Callahan County to parents, Wilbur Dawson and Joanna Bonnie Lovinggood Warren.

A graduate of Clyde High School in 1969, she pursued her passion for nursing by earning her degree from McLennan Community College. Belinda's life was characterized by her caring, loving, and determined spirit, alongside a strong faith in God. She embraced the simple pleasures of life and enjoyed being at home when she was not working. Her warmth and beauty shone through in everything she did.

Belinda was a beloved figure in her community and an exemplary Registered Nurse who dedicated over 30 years of her life to the care of others at Hillcrest Hospital, now known as Baylor Scott and White – Hillcrest. She was integral to the transition from the old Hillcrest campus to the current one, continually demonstrating her commitment to patient care throughout her career.

Belinda was also known for her creativity and musical talents; she played the piano beautifully and engaged in various hobbies such as crocheting, painting, and working puzzles to keep her mind sharp. She had a zest for exploring new interests and demonstrated a well-rounded approach to life.

Throughout her later years, Belinda displayed immense strength as she faced the challenges of dementia and Alzheimer's disease. She recognized the signs of the illness and fought against it with determination, managing the disease rather than allowing it to manage her.

Belinda leaves behind cherished memories shared with her family. She is survived by her sons, Michael Watson and Julian West; her stepdaughter, Jacque Dickey; her brother, Kenneth Warren; and her sisters, Paula Wilson and Mary Ann Warren. She was predeceased by her parents, Wilbur Dawson Warren and Joanna Bonnie Lovinggood Warren; her husband, Bobby Dickey; her sister, Neva Gambrell; and her brothers, William Joe Warren and John Randolph Warren.

A Visitation will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed immediately by a Celebration of Life at Waco Memorial Funeral Home.

Belinda Gayle Dickey will be remembered fondly as a beautiful soul whose impact on her family and community will be felt for generations to come. Her legacy of love, care, and determination will continue to inspire all who knew her.
