A memorial celebration service was held for Mrs. Belinda Ruth Heard Jones, age 71, at Ruple Baptist Church 469 Hwy 540, Haynesville, LA, on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at 11a.m., officated by Rev. Tim Pruitt and Rev. Timothy Pruitt.
Mrs. Belinda was born April 27, 1953, in Homer, LA. She was the youngest of 5 children born to Bert and Elizabeth Heard. She departed this life on October 25, 2024, in Homer, LA.
Belinda enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved her girls, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with all her heart. She loved to share their accomplishments with others any chance she got. She also loved watching and feeding the hummingbirds and other wild birds and talked about them often.
She was a graduate of Homer High School in 1972. After graduation she traveled to Florida, and Texas and then made her way back to Homer, LA.
Belinda was a hard worker and had several jobs over the years. She worked at Homer National Bank in Homer for 13 years, for 2 years she drove a semi-truck with husband, Bobby, drove a school bus for Claiborne Academy for several years, worked weekends at the concession stand at the race track owned by her brother, Ellis in Haughton for several years. She worked for a short period of time at Piggly Wiggly in Homer and also Claiborne Council on Aging in Homer. She worked the longest at Walmart where most people know her from. She worked in Homer Walmart for 5 years and retired from Minden Walmart after 15 years.
She is preceded in death by her father, Bert Heard and mother Elizabeth Heard; 4 siblings, Horace Heard and sister in law Ruby Heard, Ellis Heard, Barbara Ann Hartsell and brother in law John Hartsell, and Sammy Heard; great-granddaughter Everly Stinson.
Belinda will forever be remembered by her husband, Robert “Bobby” Jones; 4 daughters Angie and husband Tim Winters, Christina and husband Jamie Dixon, Elicia Cornejo, Fargo and husband James Bingham; 14 grand-children, Jessica, Courtney, Brandon, Allison, Jacob, Lyssa, Bren, Gabi, Joseph, Tobias, Elijah, Zechariah, Jeremiah, and Joshuah; 16 great-grand-children and numerous nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
Her legacy will live on through her family and the many things that they learned from her. She will never be far from their thoughts and forever be in their hearts.
