John B. Donofrio, Jr. Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from May 5 to May 6, 2023.
DONOFRIO, John B., Jr., of Medford, formerly of Cambridge, passed away May 4, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family after a long and courageous battle with COPD and Congestive Heart Failure. Loving father of Johnny Donofrio and Alex Sahlas of Cambridge. Beloved companion of Hieu Do of Medford. Devoted brother of Francine and Joe Piwinski, Joey and Romie Donofrio, Kevin and Christine Donofrio, Kathleen Donofrio and John Callinan, Christine and Joel Burke, Charlene and Pat Skelly, and the late Doreen and Pat O'Shea. Loving son of the late John and Yvonne Donofrio. Proud and cherished uncle to many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, he was affectionately known as "Uncle Cuckoo." He is also survived by many dear relatives and close friends. Former co-owner of Donofrio Brothers Roofing and Remodeling. John spent many years working with his brother, Joey, son John and nephew AJ, laying and repairing roofs, building and remodeling homes, and was an extremely skilled carpenter. He treasured his days of working alongside his son and teaching him the business for many years. John was a huge impact on creating JBD Custom Roofing and Remodeling. John worked hard throughout his life and was always willing to help a friend in need. He enjoyed hearing about his nieces and nephews' activities and was a big supporter of their fundraisers. John loved taking rides to NH to visit friends, road trips with Hieu, and placing wagers on his favorite teams. John was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours from the Keefe Funeral Home, 2175 Mass Ave, NORTH CAMBRIDGE on Monday, May 8th, from 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John's memory to a charity of your choice.
