Benny Jaramillo Obituary

Benny T. Jaramillo, age 75, passed away peacefully at his home in El Cerro, New Mexico on June 3, 2023. All services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Peralta, NM on Sunday, June 11th, 2023, with a Public Visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m., followed by a Rosary at 2:00 p.m. A Final Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, June 12, 2023, with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Cemetery. Benny is preceded in death by his parents, Max and Lupita Vigil Jaramillo; his daughter, Braylene; granddaughter, Kylee; his brother, Eugene as well as his father-in-law, Jimmy Baca; and brothers-in-law, Jimmy Joe Baca and Lorenzo Otero. Benny is survived by his wife, Bernadette Jaramillo, of 51 years; his children, Brandy (Patrick Ortiz), Brandon (Annette Baca), and Breanna (Justin Fisher); grandchildren (Joshua and Isaac Ortiz, Austin Jaramillo, Joshlynn Ortiz, and Isabella Ortiz, Bailey Jaramillo, Tyler and Alexandria Fisher and Jackson Jaramillo) and 1 great-grandchild (Kadynn Ortiz); his siblings Lillian Otero, Sylvia, Vivian, and Freddy Jaramillo (Alma). His mother-in-law Lillian Baca, his brother-in-law Dan Baca (Elvia), his sisters-in-law Jacque (Rodger Haynes), and Lucille (Michael Hernandez); as well as countless nieces, nephews, family members, and life-long friends. Benny was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was hard-working and always enjoyed a joke (many of which were crafted moments before telling). He loved to go to his kids and grandkids' sporting or school events. He was a pharmacist for more than 45 years. He worked locally at Joe's, Guggino's, and Walmart. When he wasn't working at the pharmacy, he enjoyed his time on his tractor taking care of the vineyard and farming. He enjoyed coaching and mentoring young soccer players for over 30 years. Amongst his proudest coaching moment was winning the Soccer State Cup. He was a devout Roman Catholic and lifelong member of the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Peralta, NM where he and Bernadette serve as Mayordomos, Padrinos of the infant baby Jesus as well as a former member of the Legion of Mary, and a former member of the Knights of Columbus. He served on the Cemetery Committee. His devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary and prayed his daily rosary on behalf of his family and friends. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren Joshua, Isaac, Joshlynn, and Isabella Ortiz, Austin, Bailey, and Jackson Jaramillo, Tyler, and Alexandria Fisher; honorary pallbearers are Kadynn Ortiz, Alexis, Alyssa, and Ashley Baca, Avery, and Andrew Franco.
