1941 - 2024
Benny V. Jaramillo. Born on September 22, 1941, and departing from us on May 28, 2024. Benny graced this world with 82 years of kindness, strength, and love. Services will take place on Monday, June 3, 2024, at San Clemente Catholic Church beginning with visitation at 9:00am, followed by a rosary at 10:00am and Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:30am. Interment will take place at a later date.
Benny was preceded in death by his parents, Premetivo and Rose (Rosalia) Jaramillo, and his four brothers, Joe, Gillie, Ray and Pat. Despite these losses, Benny's life was filled with an abundance of love and laughter, embodied by his six children: Benny Lee (Agatha), Carrie Butierres, Calley Turcotte (Rick), Rae Chavez (Gregg), Mary Baca (Nate) and Nicole and her spouse Ernest Vigil. He was also blessed with 19 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, each of whom he cherished deeply.
A devout man, Benny's faith was a cornerstone of his life. He loved the Lord Jesus Christ and was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. His devotion to his faith and his community was unwavering, and he found great solace and strength in his spirituality.
Benny served our country with pride and honor as a member of the Air Force National Guard for four years. His dedication to service extended beyond his military career; for 46 years, he delivered mail and served as a barber, brightening the days of countless individuals with his warm smile and infectious humor.
Benny's resilience shone through in his courageous battles with cancer. He faced these challenges with unwavering strength, emerging as a true warrior to the very end. His determination and bravery serve as an inspiration to all who knew him.
A man of many talents, Benny was also a skilled mechanic and the proud owner of Benny's Paint and Body. His passion for rebuilding and painting vehicles was evident in the custom, unique creations he crafted. On weekends, he could often be found racing cars, a pastime that brought him immense joy.
Benny's Matanzas, were legendary. These events were a testament to his love for bringing family and friends together, creating cherished memories that will last a lifetime. His best friends-Enfred (Fito) Griego, Eloy Giron, Louis Trujillo, Tony Devlin, Marty Baldonado, Glenn Benavidez, Sam Ortega, Leroy Lucero, Ricardo Marquez and Chico-were like brothers to him, sharing in the laughter, music, and dance that were central to Benny's life.
Music was woven into the fabric of Benny's daily existence. He was a great dancer, always ready to celebrate the good times and spread joy. His laughter and jokes were a constant source of happiness, and he had a unique ability to make everyone around him feel important, valued, and loved.
Benny's legacy is one of love, laughter, and unwavering strength. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. As we say our goodbyes, let us remember the joy he brought into our lives and the love for him that will not be forgotten.
Rest in peace, in your heavenly home. We are so blessed to have had you as our dad, our friend, and our guiding light. Thank you for the love and laughter you shared with us. Your memory will live on in our hearts forever.
