Beryl Griffin Obituary

Beryl Joyce Griffin, 73, of Harrison, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on December 6, 1951, in Reeds Spring, Missouri, to Ralph Arlis and Della Mable Meadows Eaton, in what was known as the tunnel house. Beryl married at a young age and later pursued her education, earning her GED. In 2008, at the age of 57, she proudly obtained her bachelor's degree in computer science from the University of Phoenix. Beryl was a strong and optimistic woman who faced life's challenges with resilience. Known for her stubborn streak, she was unwavering in her beliefs and determination. She loved spending time with her family, enjoying game nights, and taking trips to the casino with J. D. She had a passion for driving, always eager to go anywhere, the faster the better. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She married John Dee "J. D." Griffin on June 11, 1999, in Bellefonte, and they shared 25 wonderful years together. Beryl was a member of Grubb Springs Baptist Church, where she found faith and fellowship. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Corey Shackelford; a sister, Barbara Ellis; and two husbands, Calvin Shackelford and Don Stovall.
Beryl is survived by her devoted husband, J. D. Griffin of Harrison; her daughter, Lori McGinnis of Joplin, Missouri; three sons, Shawn (Stefani) Stovall of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, Brandon (Terra) Stovall of Bergman, and Brett (Silvia) Stovall of Shell Knob, Missouri; her beloved grandchildren, Meagan, Cody, Joshua, Nataka, Beau, and Addie; her great-grandchildren, Abby, Armando, Roman, and Rodney; two sisters, Betty Mills of Nixa and Brenda Williams of Shell Knob; her stepchildren, Ronda (Jason) Weaver of El Dorado Springs, Missouri and Michael (Melanie) Griffin of Miami, Oklahoma; her step-grandchildren, Laci, Levi, Dakota, Adam, Matthew, Kaleb, Ethan, and Cheron; 12 step-great-grandchildren; her church family at Grubb Springs Baptist Church; and other relatives and friends.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date, and she will be laid to rest at Springfield National Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri. Arrangements are under the direction of Holt Memorial Chapel.
