BESSIE CALDWELL age 91 of Crossville, TN passed away August 14, 2025. She was born April 24, 1934, in Harlan, KY, the daughter of Shelby and Betty Shephard Gross. She was a homemaker and of the Christian faith. She was a strong independent lady who took great pride in taking care of her family. She was an excellent cook who loved watching her family enjoy her meals. She also loved her horses and garage sales. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to have known her.
She is survived by her sons- James Caldwell and his wife Kim of Crossville, TN and Bob Caldwell of South Carolina, daughters- Sue Feltner of Crossville, TN and Vera Heandon of South Carolina, daughters-in-law- Sheila Caldwell of Crossville, TN and Debbie Caldwell of Lebanon, TN, sisters- Myrtle of Illinois, Pinnie of Florida and Nancy of Illinois and numerous special grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Virgil Caldwell and sons- Robert Caldwell and Virgil Caldwell Jr.
Funeral services will be held on Monday August 18, 202,5 at 2pm at Hood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Monday from 12pm-2pm two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. The burial will follow in Green Acres Memory Gardens.
