Betty Butterfield Obituary

Betty Lou Butterfield, 82, of Carrollton, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her home on September 20, 2024, after a brief illness.
Born on December 19, 1941, she was the beloved daughter of the late Harold and Garnet McLaughlin Hardgrove.
A graduate of Carrollton High School in 1961, Betty furthered her education at Gerber Beauty School in Canton, graduating in 1962. For over thirty years, she dedicated her talent and passion to hairstyling, serving clients in her home and at local nursing homes, bringing joy and comfort to those she cared for. Betty also was a dedicated Avon rep for over twenty-nine years allowing her to connect with others and share the latest in skincare and cosmetics.
In 2024, Betty and her husband, Parke, were honored by the Village of Carrollton for their remarkable 40 years of service in maintaining village properties through mowing. Their commitment to their community exemplified their spirit of generosity and hard work.
Betty was a member of the Carrollton 1st United Methodist Church. When she wasn't doing hair or caring for her community, she cherished time spent with family and friends, often attending car shows and cruise-ins, where her love for classic cars shone through.
Betty is survived by her loving husband of nearly 61 years, Parke; two sons, Kirk Alan Butterfield of Huntersville, NC, and Kevin Scott Butterfield of Carrollton, OH; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her brother, Richard (Sherry) Hardgrove of Columbus; sister-in-law, Kathy (Jim) Armstrong; and numerous nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Dodds Funeral Home in Carrollton. Burial will follow at Westview Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 24, from 5-8 p.m. in the funeral home and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Betty's name to the Carroll Golden Age Retreat, 2202 Kensington Road NE, Carrollton, OH 44615.
