Betty Ann Erskine Clark, 86, of Las Cruces, NM, passed from this life on Friday, January 24, 2025. Betty was born on July 15, 1938, to A. B. and Bertha Jane Willis Erskine. She graduated from Prescott High School in Prescott, Arkansas, Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, and earned her master’s degree from Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississippi. Betty was a teacher, guidance counselor and administrative assistant. However, her favorite job was that of Mother, Grandmother and Great - Grandmother. Betty was a long-time member of the Las Cruces Church of Christ.
Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, William “Bill” Clark; her parents, A.B. and Bertha Erskine; siblings, Iona Slankard, Inez Whatley, Allen Erskine, Jr., Margie Murphy, Blondell Kearns, James Erskine, Bobbie Hesterly, Patricia Erskine; her grandchildren, Ashley Martinez, and Will Arterbury; and son – in – law, Bob Arterbury. She is survived her daughters, Lisa Arterbury of El Paso, TX, and Robin Madrid and husband, Paul, of Buena Vista, New Mexico; great - grandchildren, Gabriel Martinez and Julianne Martinez, and “bonus” great - granddaughter, Jazlyn Martinez, all of Las Cruces; and numerous nieces, nephews, in – laws and friends.
Betty is under the care of Getz Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025, at 11:00 at the Las Cruces Church of Christ, 2025 N. Valley Drive, Las Cruces, NM 88007.
