Betty Morrow Clark, age 88, of Brenham, formerly of Atlanta, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, in a Brenham, Texas, nursing home. Betty was born March 19, 1937, in Grand Prairie, Texas, to Willie and Velma Melton Morrow. Prior to moving to Huffines, Betty was an employee of a greeting card company in Dallas; The Drawing Board. She worked there a combined total of 15 years and was a dedicated employee as secretary to the owner, then manager of different departments. She earned monetary bonuses, awards and deep respect throughout the company and with the retailers across the United States who did business with The Drawing Board.
Betty has been a member of Huffines Baptist Church since 1983. Betty loved the Lord and demonstrated her faith. Her spiritual gifts included serving others by cooking meals, cleaning, taking neighbors to the doctor, and sitting with others. She enjoyed filling many different roles at Huffines Baptist Church, including Sunday school and Vacation Bible School teacher, church secretary, custodian, weekly bulletin designer and printer, sound engineer, and song leader at intervals. She was always humming a hymn as she worked. She was a reliable worker whom many depended on, and she was greatly missed when her Parkinson's Disease made it impossible for her to continue her missions in the church. After the disease took its toll, she loved to play a long and intense game of Scrabble during which she had every intention of knocking your socks off with her high score.
She lived three and a half years at a nursing home in Brenham.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Clark; son Clifford Clark; sisters, Alice Allen, Myrtle Harlow, Emma Lee Turrentine.
She is survived by her children, Larry Clark of Mansfield, TX, Diane Houston of Brenham, TX; sister-in-law, Nora Thomas; grandchildren, Jeremiah Pierce and wife Amanda, Sarah Pierce Jacobs, Levi Houston and wife Stephanie; great-grandchildren, Nathan Caraway and wife Bre, Trey Pierce, Tristin Pierce, Teagan Pierce, Hannah Jacobs, Hallie Houston, Layla Houston; great-great-grandchildren, Emory and Avery Caraway.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 12, 2025, at the Hanner Funeral Chapel, beginning at 1:00 pm, immediately followed by the funeral service at 2:00 pm, with Bro. Tony Roberts officiating, and graveside services at Huffines Cemetery.
