Betty I. Clouse, a beacon of love and creativity, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2025, at her home in Guthrie Center, the very place where her story began on April 16, 1933. Her life was a tapestry woven with the threads of devotion to her family, a passion for nurturing children, and an undeniable flair for bringing warmth and joy to those around her.

Betty's journey through life was one of companionship and shared dreams. She married the love of her life, Vernon Clouse, on a beautiful summer day, June 24th, in Yale, Iowa. Their hearts and hopes aligned, they welcomed three children into the world: Greg (Mick) Clouse, Nancy (Steve) Trumm, and Mike (Brenda) Clouse. Betty's role as a mother was one she cherished deeply, and her guidance and love helped shape the lives of her children in countless ways.

Her legacy further blossomed with the arrival of many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family gatherings were a vivid reflection of Betty's nurturing spirit, with her home always filled with laughter, stories, and the sweet aroma of her well-loved recipes. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren will carry forward the lessons of kindness and creativity that Betty embodied throughout her life.

Betty's nurturing nature extended beyond the confines of her own family. She was a mother figure to many, often babysitting for numerous families in the area. Her ability to connect with children and provide a safe, loving environment made her a cherished figure in the community. The impact of her gentle care and genuine affection for all the children she looked after will be fondly remembered and sorely missed.

Though she now joins her beloved husband Vernon, her grandson Ross, her Aunt Leona, sister-in-law Esther Clouse, brothers-in-law Gerald and Phillip Clouse, and her parents Wilbur Stewart and Geneve Thompson in eternal rest, her spirit remains alive in the hearts of those she left behind.

Betty I. Clouse's life was a testament to the beauty of a life well-lived, one filled with love, kindness, and the joy of creating a better world for her family and those who had the privilege of knowing her. As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, we celebrate the legacy she leaves behind-a legacy that will continue to inspire and guide us. Betty will be profoundly missed, yet her memory will be treasured forever by all who knew and loved her.
