Betty Ritter Dubois was born December 13, 1935, and passed away July 6, 2025, surrounded by family who loved and cared for her.
Betty was a passionate woman who loved her community and her Lord. She was a kind and caring soul that shouldered the responsibility of raising her granddaughter, Natocha Ritter, and lent a hand in guiding many children through the years. Betty served her community by driving a school bus for Beauregard Parish for fifteen years and served as a 4-H leader for the South Beauregard area for more than twenty years. Her passion for service leaves a legacy within DeQuincy, and beyond.
She is survived by her son, Roderick Ritter; granddaughter, Natocha Ritter (Jill Gunter); grandson, Texter Ritter; great grandchildren, Kelsey, Dylan, Jordan, and Dusty; and two great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by husbands Kinsey Ritter, Alee Dubois, and Tommy Lee; daughter Melissa Steffen; and son, Damon "Tuffy" Ritter; parents Offord and Blanche Fruge Miller; and eleven siblings.
The family would like to extend special gratitude to Jill Gunter for her tireless patience and Lauren Royer and Angelle Highbaugh with Heart of Hospice for the quality care they showed Betty. We are eternally grateful.
Family will receive friends and family from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 11, 2025, and will continue from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. 4th Street, DeQuincy, Louisiana. Pastor Gregory Gaspard will be officiating. Interment to follow at Cole Cemetery, DeQuincy, Louisiana.
