Betty Lou Franklin, 80, of Winchester, IN, passed away Monday, May 26, 2025, peacefully, surrounded by love in the comforts of home. Betty was born in Mooreland, IN, on August 17, 1944, a daughter of the late Reverend Edgar C. and Ollie Mae (Atkinson) Crabtree. She was a 1962 graduate of Union School in Modoc, IN, and was formerly employed as the Secretary and Buyer for Ontario Corporation. Betty was a spunky, funny, tiny, whippersnapper, who could type like nobody's business, loved socializing, giving hugs, watching her soaps, collecting dolls, bowling, dancing, gardening, cooking, baking, working with flowers, writing poetry and creating her own homemade cards. She is survived by 2 daughters; Anita Acree, Annette Meranda, 1 brother; David Crabtree (Karen), 1 sister; Shirley Johnson (Dan), 3 grandchildren; Gena Anderson, Stevie Rae Hargis, Will Anderson, 4 great grandchildren; Kayla Rhum, Kelsey Rhum, Dillon Kelly, Aria Burns, 1 great great grandchild; Nash Swanagan Rhum and several nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers; Ralph Crabtree, Willie Ray Crabtree, Jesse Crabtree, Bobby Crabtree and 1 sister; Emogene Friar. At Betty's requests there will be no formal funeral services. The family would like to thank Heart to Heart Hospice, Nurse Tonya, and Nurse Macy for the excellent care and dedication shown to Betty and her family during this difficult time. Arrangements have been entrusted to MJS Mortuaries - Farmland Chapel.
