Elizabeth Felt Obituary

Elizabeth Ann Felt

1974~2025

Salt Lake City, UT-Elizabeth Ann Felt, age 52, was born March 4, 1974, and died October 10, 2025.

Liz was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Paul Felt and Karen Brandon. She attended school in Salt Lake City, graduating high school from Judge Memorial High School. She went to college at Antioch University and graduated in creative writing from Naropa University.

Liz became a skillful peer counselor for NAMI and helped many people living with mental illness. She also organized multiple art shows as fundraisers for NAMI. Liz courageously lived her life with her own struggles with mental illness and was always a powerful advocate for others with similar challenges. She was a loyal friend and support for many through the years.

Liz loved all the arts and was a wonderful creative writer. She eventually turned her talents to photography, creating unique visual landscapes, especially of the land around her beloved Holiday Park.

Liz was a loving and caring woman. She touched many hearts through her thoughtfulness and artistic nature. She and all of her black labs had a strong devotion to each other. They were lucky to be loved by her.

Liz is survived by her father Paul Felt (Jan), brother Matt Felt, stepbrother Jeremy Smith, uncle Doug Felt (Kathy), aunt Marianne Felt, and beloved dog Ellie.

There will be a private graveside funeral for family. Please send any donations on her behalf to NAMI Utah.

Yesterday

Oh Liz, this hurts my heart so much. You were a bright light in my life. From our days at NAMI when you so beautifully created the Artists Program. It was brilliant and you shined your brightest working with all the artists. I loved that about you. I loved your sense of humor, your Facebook posts that brought a smile to my face, your fantastic photography, your love of your cabin and dogs, your love of your family and friends, your style of dress, your beautiful smile. Don't think for a second that you're not missed here earth-side. Enjoy your glorious reunion with your mother. I'm sure Heaven is being dazzled by you right now. I'll miss you.

Yesterday

My dear, dear friend, Liz, you were like a daughter to me, as well as a treasured friend. I’m so overwhelmed to think that I won’t b able to pick up the phone and just talk. We laughed putting up Halloween decorations a couple of days before you passed. You always made me laugh. You and Nerissa were my heroes and now u both r gone. This time of year u two would get together to watch scary movies and eat junk food. U went through so many hard times but just kept on going. I’ll miss our long talks, visits to your beloved cabin, lunches, your dogs, Hawaii, writing retreats that really turned more into girl sleepovers, lunches, and so much more. But more than anything, I will just miss you! You r a light that drew people to u like moths to a fire. Your spirit was so strong. And your creativity, intelligence, humor, love, dogs, persistence, kindness, leadership, and courage, will leave a void in my heart that will always be there.
Goodbye my sweet friend until we see each again. I send my love to all your family at this time and deepest sympathy.

I'm so sorry for the loss of a courageous soul and great friend, Liz. We meet while working at UNI as certified peer support specialists. We remained friends and loved to go for pancakes together. My thoughts and prayers are with Liz's family and her beloved dog.

Liz - I remember our time at NAMI. You were the embodiment of love and compassion; always caring about me and my son. You touched my heart and my soul. I am missing you so much right now. Until we meet again. Love you.

I am so deeply saddened by this news... I think so fondly of you and your love for animals, skills in photography, and ability to always find the words to say (funny or supportive). We never did get the chance to trade stories like we always talked about. But, I hope I can live up to your level of adventurism and respect of nature.
With much love

I believe I taught Elizabeth at Judge.
I DO remember her, so fondly. I believe her cousin, Megan, and she were in the Drama program, Elizabeth more peripherally.
I very much support NAMI and all harm reduction efforts.
Please accept my condolences.
