Schroth, Betty E. passed away July 5, 2025 at HopeWest in Grand Junction, Colorado. She was 92 years young.

A graveside service will be held in her honor at 2:00 pm, Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Paonia, Colorado. A viewing will be held Friday, July 11, 2025 at Taylor Funeral Service (682 1725 Rd., Delta, Colorado) from 4:00 to 5:00 pm.

Betty was born on April 4, 1933 in La Veta, Colorado to Ella Barbara Freida Schroeder and William Thomas Leck. She grew up in several places in Colorado like the San Luis Valley and Denver. She graduated from West High School in Denver, Colorado in 1951.

She was married and had three children: Albert Joseph, Mary Ella, and Katherine Marie. She was divorced in 1974.

Betty worked several years for the phone company (Mountain Bell) as an operator and a clerk before moving to Taylor, Arizona. She lived there for about 6 years. Because she was raised by parents who loved the mountains, she too loved them and decided to move back to Colorado. She enjoyed going to the mountains for picnics or any other reason. She also liked to play Yahtzee, read and watch westerns, and spend time with her family.

Betty is survived by her children: Al Schroth of Washington, Mary Pinkston of Delta, Colorado, and Kathy Greer of Delta, Colorado; she had eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents Bill and Ella Leck and her siblings Ella Smith, Freda Pilger, Bill Leck, Jack Leck, Curtis Leck, and Glenna Collins. She was the last one of her immediate family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Betty’s name to: HopeWest of Delta
