On Wednesday, 7-23-2025 Betty Joan Townsend reached her lifelong destination to join our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. No services will be held at this time. Betty was born in Walcott, Indiana on July 9th, 1944, to Harold E. Lintner and Mildred E. Lintner/Kaiser. The family lived in Indiana for the first 5 years of Betty's life. The family moved to Colorado in 1949 where Betty received her early education in various small schools in the area. In 1960, she married Donald Mayfield, the marriage produced 4 children Donna, John, Carolyn (Carrie) and Joann. Betty loved singing and playing her guitar, in her younger years playing with her sisters and brother, always playing and singing at family gatherings. In the last few years of her life Betty played music and ministered with her daughter Carrie. One of her greatest joys was receiving her pastors license and preaching/singing at the Living Word Church in Sterling, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Mildred Lintner, her beloved son John Mayfield, and daughter in law Kathy Mayfield; sisters Nancy Patten and husband Jerry Patten, and Eva Kuhns and husband Sammy V. Kuhns; sister Margie Lintner and sister-in-law Peggy Lintner. Betty is survived by 3 daughters, Donna George and Joey Richard of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Joann Mayfield and Luchia Fitzgerald of Chorlton, England, and Carolyn (Carrie) and Ricky Pesek of Weldona, Colorado; sister Marilyn Belcher of Harrison, Nebraska; brother Harold E. Lintner Jr "Eddie/Festus" of Huntington, Tennessee and many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends; 3 grandchildren Alia Graves and husband Ben of Minnesota, Kelsey Mayfield/Baker and Alycia Mayfield of Sterling, Colorado; 3 great grandchildren Sam Graves, Liam Graves and Arlo Benjamin Edward Mayfield. Donations can be made to The Little Rescue on the Prairie,133 Maine St., Log Lane Village, CO 80705, where she adopted her beloved Sally Cat. Betty's favorite saying was "you may be the only Jesus someone sees today ". I LOVE YOU MORE!!
