Betty Jeanette Williams, 92, of Pittsburg, Oklahoma passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at the Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at the Chaney Harkins Funeral Home Chapel with her grandson, Chris McLaughlin officiating. The burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, McAlester, Oklahoma.
Pallbearers will be Ryan McLaughlin, John Edwards, Jeremy Edwards, Cody Scrivner, Jude McLaughlin, and Levi McLaughlin.
Honorary pallbearer will be Luke Nowkhah.
Betty was born on January 9, 1933 in Brewer, Oklahoma to Mike Coufal and Helen (Sierakowski) Coufal. She graduated from Pittsburg High School with the Class of 1951. Betty earned a registered nursing degree from Baptist Hospital in Muskogee, Oklahoma in 1953. She married Claude Williams in 1956. Betty worked at various hospitals throughout the State for over 40 years.
Betty is survived by her sister, Roseanne Nunley of Baldwin, Missouri; 6 children: Peter Williams of Pittsburg, Oklahoma, Karen McLaughlin of Edmond, Oklahoma, Kay Edwards of McAlester, Oklahoma, Cheryl DeBolt and husband, Terry of Bixby, Oklahoma, Mark Williams of Pittsburg, Oklahoma, and Karla Nowkhah and husband, Cy of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; her grandchildren: Jennifer Scrivner and husband, Brian, Chris McLaughlin and wife, Sarah, Ryan McLaughlin and wife, Rachel, John Edwards and wife, Bri, Jeremy Edwards, and Luke Nowkhah; great grandchildren: Cody Scrivner, Allie Scrivner, Jude McLaughlin, Levi McLaughlin, Felicity McLaughlin, Rose McLaughlin, Blaze Edwards, and Jade Edwards.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Mike and Helen (Sierakowski) Coufal, infant son, John Christian Williams; husband, Claude Ellis Williams; son-in-law, Steven Michael McLaughlin; and brother, Jess Michael Coufal.
