Beverly G. Kay, 87, wife of the late Joseph Walton Kay, of Seneca, passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Cottingham Hospice House.
Born in Hartwell, GA, Mrs. Kay was the daughter of the late Lloyd D. and Elsie Sullivan Gurley. She was an administrative assistant for Coats and Clark with retirement from Square D. Mrs. Kay was a member of Utica Baptist Church.
Mrs. Kay is survived by her sons: Donald W. Kay (Jody) and Joseph T. Kay (Jennifer); daughter: Jane Kay Lafaille; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Kay was preceded in death by one great-grandchild; and her brother: Bill Gurley.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, July 7, 2025, at Davenport Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Oconee Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM, prior to the service, at Davenport Funeral Home.
Flowers are accepted, or memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org, or Prisma Health Hospice of the Foothills, Cottingham House, attn: Foundation Office, 298 Memorial Dr., Seneca, SC 29672.
The family would like to express their thanks to the staff of Hospice of the Foothills for the care and compassion shown to Mrs. Kay during her stay at Cottingham Hospice House.
The family is at their respective homes.
