Billy Brooke Ammons, 90, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2025. Born in Canton, Georgia, on November 29, 1934, Bill lived a long and meaningful life rooted in love for his family and a deep commitment to caring for others.
Bill was the beloved husband of Annette Ammons and a devoted father to his sons Kenneth M. Ammons and Randall A. Kapalko and his wife Amy, and his daughter Nicole A. Kapalko Naea and her husband Misi. He also held a special place in his heart for his daughter-in-law Jennifer Kapalko Frissell and her husband Mark. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: grandson Dr. Brandon A. Kapalko DO; and his granddaughters Jessica Kapalko Sprang and her husband Tyler, Sienna G. Naea, and Adalyn S. Naea.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Henley Ammons and Lissie Lee Blackwell Ammons, as well as his brother Jerry Ammons. He is lovingly remembered by his surviving siblings Ronnie Ammons and Jean Ammons Thompson.
Bill was known for his witty humor and warmth-always ready with a joke to brighten someone's day. To those who knew him best, he was the heart of the family: funny, loving, and endlessly generous with his time and care. Whether walking his dog Rhys or casting a line when time allowed, Bill found joy in simple pleasures. But above all else, he found purpose in being there for others-especially his grandchildren, who knew him as the best grandpa ever.
A celebration of Bill's life will be held later on November 29th, 2025 on his 91st birthday.
May the memory of Billy Brooke Ammons bring comfort to all who loved him and continue to inspire those whose lives he touched with kindness and laughter.
