Bob Holder, 92, of Evart, passed away with his loving wife, Sandra, at his side on Monday, July 21, 2025 at The Comfort Home in Reed City. Bob was born in Kennett, MO on August 11, 1932 to John and Jessie (Bailey) Holder.

He was raised in Decatur, IL and entered into the United States Army in Detroit in 1953. Bob was honorably discharged in December of 1954 from Ft. Sheridan, IL and made his home in Michigan as a DNR officer. He met Sandra Lynn Pacific who he married on April 11, 1964 in Battle Creek. They resided at Sleeper State Park in Caseville before moving to Lansing and then St. Charles. In 1982 he was transferred to Evart before retiring from the fire division in 1991.

They were active members of the Michigan Wood Carvers Association. Together, Bob and Sandy formed the Chief Osceola Wood Carvers and with them, they started the Evart Wood Carvers Round Up, twenty-five years ago. They were also actively involved with the Original Dulcimer Players Festival and lifetime members of the Osceola County 4H & FFA Fair Board. They have faithfully attended the Avondale United Methodist Church since 1982 where Sandy is the pianist/organist.

Bob was a man of impeccable integrity and faith.

Bob is survived by his beloved and faithful loving wife of 61 years, Sandy of Evart and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Bob was preceded in death by: his parents and four siblings, Dorman and Ulis Holder, Loveda Mansfield and Elnora Tanzyus.

Memorial contributions in Bob's name can be made to Avondale United Methodist Church, PO Box 388, Evart, Michigan 49631. Cremation has taken place through the Corey Funeral Home in Evart. No services will be held at this time. Expressions of sympathy can be left online at www.coreyfuneralhome.com.
