Bobby Joe Cain, of Albertville, passed peacefully on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. Born in Villa Rica, Georgia, on June 23, 1934, Bob had just celebrated his 91st birthday.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Eleanor Sue Rains Cain, and his three sons, Darrell Joseph Cain (Barbara), Stanley Craig Cain, and Benjamin Ross Cain (Marla). He is survived by two brothers, Carl Cain and Benny Cain. Bob has seven grandchildren; Logan Cain, Lauren Maddux, Mallory Holter, Samuel Cain, Amanda Brown, Olivia Gillilan, and Joel Cain. Bob has seven great grandchildren; Dean, Ridge, Margaret, Claire, Aaron, Isaac, and Shiloh.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence S. Cain and Dovie Farmer Cain, one brother, Robert (Buster) Cain, and his daughter in law, Gloria Mashburn Cain, wife of Stan.
Bob served in the U.S. Navy from the age of 17 to 21, during the Korean war. His career spanned 50 years and included Revere Copper, NASA, and Chrysler. He was a brilliant man who read three books a week, even up to his last week. His carving skills have provided treasured heirlooms such as a mountain laurel and walnut wood chess set and intricately patterned boxes.
His work ethic stands as a testimony of his love and devotion to his family, whom he provided for faithfully. His quick smile and willingness to help in any way he could will long be remembered by those who loved him.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at Adams Brown Service Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tony Holcomb officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery.
