Bobby Jones Obituary

Mr. Robert Osborne Jones, better known as "Bobby", age 85, of Jefferson passed away Wednesday morning, February 12, 2025 at his home.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2025 at 3:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Nate Roten and Rev. Herb Parunak officiating. A private burial will be held.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00pm on Sunday, February 16, 2025; two hours prior to the funeral services.
Mr. Jones was born in Ashe County on September 12, 1939 to the late James Kermit and Mildred Osborne Jones. Bobby was a member of Ashe Alliance Church. He worked the majority of his life as a Produce Broker but also had other work adventures. He worked in Christmas Trees, remodeled homes, sold used cars and his latest adventure was reclaimed lumber. Bobby was hard working man and was a loving husband, father and will be missed by all.
He was also preceded in death by a son, David Jones; a grandson, Adam Robert Gilley; a brother, James Edward Jones.
Mr. Jones is survived by: his wife, of 65 years of marriage, Dorothy Ann "Dot" Goodman Jones; a daughter, Donna Roush (David), of Jefferson; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Jones, of Smithfield, NC; four grandchildren, Dustin Scott Gilley, Tyler Thomas Gilley, Grayson Michael Gilley and Sidney Roush; a great-grandson, Huxley Crew Gilley; and one nephew, Doug Jones (Allison), of Smithfield, NC also survive.
