Bobby Joe McClelland, 76, of Columbus, Ohio passed away on July 28, 2025, with his wife by his side after a long battle with cancer.

Born March 29, 1949, Bobby Joe was raised in Glouster, Athens County, Ohio. He was the son of the late Glen and Edith McClelland. Bobby Joe worked as a truck driver for 50 years: his most memorable and favorite experience to share was that of his drive from Portland, Maine, to Portland, Oregon.

Proceeded in death by siblings Charles, Jack, Shirley, Howard Paul, and Edna, daughter Angie. Bobby Joe is survived by his wife of 40 years, Patricia McClelland; sons Bob Jr. (Janet), Jim (Nancy), and Mark; stepchildren Buffy, Jack (Tiffany), Joe (Michelle), and Kina; siblings Fred (Barb), Cynthia, Denney, and Toni; multiple grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; close friends Mike and Sherry, and Ray.

Bobby Joe was an avid collector of vintage toys and memorabilia. He loved the outdoors, especially camping and fishing. He liked gardening, playing euchre, classic western films, and was a Gunsmoke enthusiast. Socializing while enjoying the company of his family over a cold bottle of Budweiser was one of his more favorable pastimes.

Family and friends will gather to honor the life of Bobby Joe Saturday, August 2, 2025, from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at Evans Funeral Home - 4171 E. Livingston Ave, Columbus, OH 43227. In lieu of flowers, donations for the expenses can be made to the J. E. Humphrey Funeral Home of Shawnee, Ohio.

The family would like to extend a special thanks and appreciation of gratitude to Heather, Tina, as well as the additional nurses and staff of Luminary Hospice for their kindness and support.
