Roberta Jean Neugent, affectionately known as Bobby to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2025, in Texas. Born on September 14, 1935, in Michigan, Bobby lived a full and vibrant life that spanned nearly nine decades, marked by her service, love for her family, and a multitude of passions that brought joy to those around her.
Bobby's early years were characterized by a sense of duty and patriotism, which led her to serve her country as a Marine in 1955. Her time in the military instilled in her a strong sense of discipline and pride, traits that she carried with her throughout her life. After her honorable discharge, Bobby transitioned to civilian life, where she continued to lead by example, dedicating herself to her family and community.
A matriarch in every sense of the word, Bobby was a loving mother to her children Danny, Tommy, Ricky, and Robby. She was also a doting grandmother and great-grandmother to numerous grandchildren who brought her immeasurable happiness. Though she faced the heart-wrenching loss of her daughter Patti Neugent in 1993 and her husband of 55 years Kenneth Neugent in 2010, Bobby's strength and love never wavered, and she remained the cornerstone of her family.
Bobby's interests and hobbies were as diverse as they were engaging. She was an excellent cook, known for her delicious meals that would bring the family together around the dinner table. Her love for puzzles reflected her patient and analytical mind, while her passion for painting showcased her creative spirit. Shopping was another joy in her life, whether she was on the hunt for the perfect gift for a loved one or simply enjoying the day out.
