Bobby Rex Woods, age 85, of Maysville, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on October 28, 1939, in
Jay, Oklahoma, Bobby was the son of Clarence Phagan Woods and Lora Burton Woods. On March 3, 1961, he married the love of his life, Betty Black Woods. Together, they built a strong and loving family over the course of 64 years of marriage.
Bobby was known for his unwavering work ethic and spent 44 dedicated years with Peterson Farms. He was a man of kindness, generosity, and loyalty, deeply devoted to his family. His greatest joy came from being with those he loved. Some of his happiest moments were spent attending his children's and grandchildren's events, always proud to cheer them on.
From childhood, he had a special love for the game of checkers, a simple joy that stayed with him throughout his entire life. Bobby enjoyed an active and adventurous life-he enjoyed boxing, riding horses, and took pride in raising and training coon dogs.
Bobby could wheel and deal with anyone-he had a natural knack for making a trade and never missed an opportunity to strike a deal. He always said, "Everything's for sale for the right price," and he meant it.
With a warm sense of humor, Bobby had a way of making everyone feel welcome. He left a lasting impression on all who crossed his path.
Bobby was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. His legacy of love, laughter, and strength will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Lora Woods; his sisters, Wanda Simmons and Reba Talley; and his brother, Ernie Woods.
Bobby is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Betty Woods; his children: Randy Woods and wife Pam of Adair, OK; Debbie Scraper and husband Fox of Colcord, OK; and Bobbie Gayle Woods of Gravette, AR.
He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Matt Woods (Allisha Woods), Lyndsee Woods (James Austin), Kasey Woods (Toshia Woods), Danielle Woods, and Joshua Saldana (Krista Saldana); Justin House (Brandi House).
Bobby was blessed with great-grandchildren who brought him endless pride and joy: Anna and Cody Woods; Lucas Bradley, Kynzlee, and Tristyn Rex Woods; Tynlee and Easton Woods; Lilly and Brantley Saldana; Payton and Jaxson House.
He is also survived by his sisters, Sue Meeker and Jo Cantrel (Gene), along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family who loved him dearly.
Bobby's life was a beautiful example of devotion, humor, and heart. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
