Bonnie Buchele, 87, of Boulder, IL passed away Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Salem Township Hospital. Bonnie was born on August 19, 1937, in Carrigan Township, Illinois. She was the daughter of Gene and Esther Simpson. She married Eugene Buchele on January 28, 1957.
Survivors include her children, Donna Wadkins and husband Carl of Boulder, IL, and Delores Vosholler of Boulder, IL; grandchildren, Thomas Wadkins of Boulder, IL, Andrew Wadkins and wife Whitney of Sandoval, IL, Samantha Vosholler of Sandoval, IL, and Matthew Vosholler of Shobonier, IL; a brother, Glen Simpson of Irvington, IL; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene on June 9, 1994; an infant daughter, Velda on September 16, 1961; as well as her parents.
Bonnie was a housewife, helping her husband on their farm. Bonnie also worked for a short time at Hardees in Carlyle, IL in the mid 1990's, as the biscuit maker. Bonnie was a member of the Boulder United Methodist Church, where she participated in many activities, including Ladies Aid and Vacation Bible School. Bonnie enjoyed gardening, bird watching, doing word puzzles, playing Bingo and spending time with her family and friends. Bonnie never met a stranger.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 27, 2025, at the Day Macz Funeral Home in Sandoval. Interment will follow at Pritchett Cemetery in Boulder. Relatives and friends are welcome to the visitation from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home in Sandoval. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Bonnie's honor to Boulder United Methodist Church or Pritchett Cemetery. Online condolences and memories of Bonnie may be shared with her family by visiting maczfuneralhomes.com and/or on the funeral home's Facebook page.
