Bonnie Sue Dobbs, 97, of Ruston, Louisiana, passed away on Monday, July 1, 2025. Born July 31, 1927, to Alvin and Myrtle Smith Proctor in Choctaw County, Mississippi, Bonnie "Sue" Dobbs dedicated much of her life to caring for others through her work as a nurse at the Tri-County Nursing Home in Louisville, Mississippi. Following her retirement, she and her husband moved to Ruston, Louisiana, where she became a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church of Ruston. Her faith was a guiding force in her life, and she found joy and community in her church family.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Blanton Pagan (Tony Pagan) of Bradenton, Florida; three grandchildren: Steve Towne, Jr. (Corrine) of Cleveland, Texas; Teresa Jordan (Josh Jordan) of Ruston, Louisiana; and Gino Palmieri (Tamara Palmieri) of Eupora, Mississippi; and five great-grandchildren: Steven Towne III, Sheena Towne, Tyler Mann, Ariana Towne, and Lola Cooper.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Rasse Dobbs, and her daughter, Betty Lynn Skelton.
A private graveside family service will be held at Louisville Memorial Cemetery in Louisville on Monday, July 7, 2025, with a celebration of life to follow at Calvary Baptist Church at a later time.
Services are under the direction of Massey Funeral Home, 724 North Columbus Avenue, Louisville, MS. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family by signing the guest register at www.masseyfuneralhome.net.
