Bonnie (Barnett) Hawkins passed away peacefully at her home in Forsyth, Mo. June 20, 2025.
Bonnie was born Nov. 23, 1946, to Gordon Barnett and Fidelis Raechel Chapmen. She graduated from Fort Dodge High School in 1965. Bonnie later joined in marriage to Jack Davis, and during this marriage they welcomed three daughters, Julie Anderson, Jodi King, and Jennie Davis. While raising her family Bonnie worked at CRL Components in Ft. Dodge IA.
After marrying Ed Hawkins, Bonnie relocated to Rockwell City, IA., where she worked at the correctional facility. Following Ed's retirement from GTE, Bonnie and Ed traveled and eventually settled in Forsyth Mo., where they built their home and belonged to the Church of Nazarene.
Bonnie was a passionate and talented quilter, known for her precision and creativity. She worked at Quilts and Quilts in Branson, Mo., where many of her beautifully crafted samples are still proudly displayed throughout the store.
Bonnie was known for her caring heart, warm smile and her ability to make everyone feel loved and valued. She treated everyone with kindness and respect.
Bonnie is survived by her husband, Ed Hawkins, daughters: Julie (John) Anderson, Jodie King, Jennie Davis, stepchildren, Rod (Mary) Hawkins, Rachelle (Scott) Klocko, Ryan Hawkins and her beloved nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Tom Barnett, sisters Ruthanne Dencklau, Donna Jones and stepdaughter Becky Dual.
Graveside services will be held at Graceland Cemetery, Creston, IA. at a later date. Special "Thank You" to the Preferred Hospice Team, for the special care provided during this time.
Local arrangements were by Snapp-Bearden Forsyth Chapel, Forsyth, Mo.
