Bonnie Sue Davis, 83, of Decatur, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at her home on June 28, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Morgan County, Tennessee, on September 1, 1941, Bonnie was a graduate of Meigs County High School and a longtime resident of Decatur. She retired from Shaw Industries after many years of dedicated service and was a faithful, lifelong member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church.
Bonnie had a deep love for her family and found joy in cooking, spending time with loved ones, and traveling, especially with her beloved sister Shirley. Her warm spirit, gentle heart, and unwavering faith touched all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ford and Ruby May; her brother, William "Dub" May; her first husband and father of her children, Larry Schrank; and her second husband, Gene Davis.
Bonnie is survived by her four devoted sisters, all of Decatur: Shirley Melton, Vickie (Robert) Ward, Mary May, and Joye (Teddy) Layman. She leaves behind her four children: Yolanda (Dennis) Massey of Chattanooga, Steve (Angie) Schrank of Decatur, David Schrank of Ten Mile, and Patti Roberts of Athens. She is also lovingly remembered by six stepchildren from her marriage to Gene Davis.
Her legacy continues through her eight grandchildren: Matt Schrank and Drew Schrank, both of Decatur; Christin Ritchey and Holly Massey, both of Chattanooga; Nicholas (Rhonda) Benton of Buford, Georgia; Tia Musnicki of Riceville; Jessica Jones of Hixson; and Kayla (Jake) Couch of Ten Mile. She was also blessed with 22 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy.
A heartfelt thank you goes to her devoted sisters, three of her great-grandchildren - Brianna Emery, Brooklyn Schrank, and Skylar Benton - and to Audrey Newman for their loving care, time, and support during Bonnie's final days.
Bonnie Sue Davis lived a life marked by faith, kindness, and devotion to her family. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished in the hearts of those who loved her.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 3, 2025, in the Chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. - 2 p.m., prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, family ask donations be made to the American Cancer Society, https://donate.cancer.org/, in memory of Miss Bonnie.
