Bradley Brooks Obituary

Bradley Ian Brooks, age 40, passed away suddenly on July 16, 2025, in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Born on May 27, 1985, in Bremerton, Washington, Bradley was the beloved son of Teresa Brooks and Mark Brooks, both of Arkansas. A true original with a heart as big as his laugh, Bradley had a way of making friends wherever he went-and keeping them for life. Bradley was engaged to his loving fiancée, Laura Carlson of Virginia Beach, and her son Keanu, who he loved like his own. Whether they were gaming into the night or sharing a drink of Crown, their bond was undeniable. Bradley was a die-hard fan of DC Shoes-he rocked the shirts, the shoes, the whole damn vibe. He also had a thing for M&Ms (yes, the candy and the merch), and if you ever tried to sneak one? Good luck. He was also known to throw back a Budweiser or three, dominate a round of Super Mario, and talk trash with charm while playing darts or rolling dice with his buddies. He was a snorer that could register on the Richter scale-seriously, the man roared like a chainsaw. Combine that with being a nonstop talker, and his poor coworkers never stood a chance on out-of-town trips. Sleep? Not with Bradley in the room. But hey, you'd be laughing too hard to care. Bradley loved country and country rap, chilling at home with the music on and the dogs-Zeus and Ruby-at his feet. He lived for comfort, good company, and making sure everyone was having a damn good time. Bradley's magnetic personality and endless sense of fun brought joy to everyone around him. He leaves behind countless friends, cherished memories, and stories that will be told for years-usually while holding a beer and laughing until it hurts. Left to carry on his memory are his mother, Teresa Brooks, and his father, Mark Brooks, both of Arkansas; his fiancée Laura Carlson and her son Keanu, both of Virginia Beach; his brother Brandon Brooks of Virginia Beach; and a whole crew of nieces and nephews who adored their Uncle Brad. A visitation will be held at Altmeyer Funeral Home – Southside Chapel on Tuesday, July 22, from 4:00–6:00 PM. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 6:00 PM in the chapel. Please dress casually-just like Bradley would have-and bring your best memories to share. Stories, laughs, and love are all welcome. Bradley's family is grateful that he was a donor through LifeNet Health. His gift will go on to help others, and his recognition certificate will be proudly displayed in his honor. Rest easy, Bradley. Guns and glory, forever. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Bradley, please visit our floral store.
