Brenda Sidwell Davis, 78 of Apalachee, passed away on July 4, 2025. Mrs. Davis was the daughter of the late, Raymond and Stella Mae Jones Sidwell. She was born in Athens on February 4, 1947. She grew up in Morgan County and was a 1965 graduate of Morgan County High School. Brenda was married to Dan Davis. She had attended Apalachee Methodist Church. Mrs. Davis was retired from the University of Georgia where she worked in administration in the College of Education. She loved crafting in her free time. She was an avid gardener and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Brenda Davis is survived by her husband, Dan Davis and children, Sharon (Barry) Bates, Michael (Jennifer) Williams and Renee Johnston. Her grandchildren are Tyler (Rachel) Perry, Beth, Abby, Sam and Drew Williams and Colton Johnston. Her great grandchildren are Carson, Weston and Saylor Perry. Mrs. Davis also leaves a sister Dixie (Whitey) Morris as well as a host of other family members.
The family of Brenda Davis will receive friends at A.E. Carter Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 9 from 6-8 PM. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Mrs. Davis's memory to the American Heart Association or to your favorite charity.
