Brent Halmrast Obituary

On May 31, 2025, our Heavenly Father took his child, Brent, in His arms and brought him to his Heavenly home.
Brent Wayne Adolph Halmrast was born in Breckenridge, MN on September 5, 1965 to parents Leonard and Lela (Sveum) Halmrast. He was raised on the family farm outside of DeLamere and where he was resided at the time of his death. He attended Milnor Public School and graduated in 1984. Brent worked at Ruby's Apiaries in Milnor before becoming employed at Bobcat in Gwinner where he worked for 36 years. He had just retired on April 18, 2025. Brent was united in marriage to Jody Schreiner in August 1999, and they later divorced. This union gave him two beautiful daughters.
One of Brent's favorite places to be was on his deck at the farm. He loved watching nature all around him. Brent also loved fishing, gardening, going on A.T.V. rides with his girlfriend, Juli Schultz, hanging out with family and friends and hanging with brother Brad. Brent will always be remembered for his kindness towards others, his never-ending patience, his smile/smirk, and sense of humor. Brent had a very strong faith and loved discussing prophecy.
Brent is survived by his two daughters, Kyanna Halmrast and NaKayla Halmrast both of Fargo, ND; his significant other, Juli Schultz of DeLamere; sisters, Donna (Tom) Rossow, DeLamere, Wanda Axtman, Milnor, Laura (Mitch) Gibbon, Maricopa, AZ and Kim (Kelly) Gruba, DeLamere; also brother Brad Griggs, Milnor; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Leonard (who also passed away on May 31st, 28 years ago), his mother Lela, and his hunting and fishing buddy, nephew Tyrone Halmrast.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2025 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. followed by his funeral at 11:00 a.m. at Milnor Lutheran Church. Burial will be at Immanuel Cemetery near DeLamere. Brent's service will be live streamed below.
There will be a gathering at the family farm starting at 3:00 pm.
