Brian Lee Barber, Sr.
With great sadness, we share the passing of Brian Barber, Sr. of Stockbridge, formerly of Whitmore Lake. Brian passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at the age of 70, surrounded by family. He was born July 5, 1955, in Ypsilanti, Michigan, son of Lewis and Eva Marie (Foster) Barber.
Brian was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He could not stand to see someone unhappy and made it his goal to make everyone around him laugh. In his younger years, he worked on the oil rigs. In his later years, he mastered roofing.
Brian is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Barb Barber; daughter, Laura (Tony) Kurth; son, Brian (Becki) Barber; six brothers, Bill (Jacky) Barber, Barry Barber, Jon Barber, Roger (Deb) Barber, Scott (Wendy) Barber, and Joe (Nancy Foster) Barber; three sisters, Sheila (Kelvin) Keeney, Bonita (Dan) Kniffen, and Tina (James) Bond; grandchildren, Michael, Brian Lewis, Gauge (Katie), Brian, Breanna, Joseph, Eva, Autumn, Dylan, and Ryker; great-grandchildren, Maranda, Mikey, and Rory; and many nieces and nephews to mourn his loss. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Louis; and sisters, Patty, Marsha, and Brenda.
The family will hold a private service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, or you can plant a tree in Brian's memory. Arrangements were entrusted to Cole Funeral Chapel in Chelsea.
