Brian Keith Doan of Frankton completed his earthly journey on April 20, 2025, at the age of 58.
Brian's story began in Elwood on August 24, 1966, one of three sons born to Robert and Marsha Doan. He was a 1984 graduate of Elwood High School, where he excelled at athletics, especially baseball; he would go on to work a variety of jobs over the years. On April 22, 2005, he was wed to Amy Davenport, and they shared 20 special years together.
Adventurous and fun-loving, Brian was always ready for a new discovery. If the sun was shining, he was usually outside with his metal detector, and he was fascinated by geology. Fishing and camping were also favorite pastimes, and he was an excellent shot when it came to cornhole and horseshoes. Brian loved to work with his hands; he was constantly tinkering, making walking sticks, or doing small odd jobs.
Brian was known for his fondness of many things - Oreos and coffee, classic rock music, cherry Coke, cigarettes, oatmeal cream pies, double cheeseburgers with ketchup from Bernie's, and El Caminos. However, what people will remember most about him was his kind and caring heart. While he did enjoy giving people a good scare, Brian was always respectful and encouraging. He helped anyone and everyone he could, and did so with a smile on his face. Brian's loved ones will forever cherish his memory and honor the special person that he was.
Brian leaves behind his wife, Amy Doan, and his son Robert (Mackenzie Espinoza) Doan. He is also survived by his brothers Thomas and Doug (Pat) Doan; and special friends, Michael Bott, Raymond Wyant, and Bobby Bowen.
Along with his parents, Brian is preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Pat Doan; his grandmother, Eileen Jarvis; his great-grandmother, Mary Samuels; and two close friends, David Johnson and Brian Philips.
Harper & Dunnichay Funeral Home has been entrusted with Brian's care, and his final wishes were to be cremated. A celebration of life will take place this Friday, May 2, at Frankton Christian Church. Visitation will be held from 11:00am to noon; the ceremony will begin at noon.
The family invites any and all who would like to remember Brian to share condolences, memories, and photographs, on his memorial page at www.dunnichayfuneralhome.com
