Mr. Byron Wyrick, of Ridgely, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Jackson Madison Co. General Hospital. He was born December 19, 1948 to the late Lloyd and Alma Ruth Wyrick. Byron worked for over 35 years as a proud and skilled crane operator and a dedicated member of Operating Engineers Local 150. Throughout his career his main priority was the safety of his coworkers. His love for roller skating brought him joy and many great friendships. He was known for his kindness, generosity, and his big heart. Byron was a loving father, a devoted son and caring husband. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his stories, laughter, and love will forever echo in our hearts. Byron is survived by his daughter Christina Failing and husband Michael of Winfield, IL, his step-son Paul Cohen and wife Annie, of Round Lake, IL, his brother Timothy Wyrick and wife, Cheryl of Franklin, WI, a sister Glinda Wilson-Crosnoe and husband Melvin of Milan, TN and four grandchildren: Olivia Cohen and Brandon, Liam and Sophia Failing. He is preceded in death in 2024 by his wife, Kathleen Joy Wyrick and his parents. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Ridgely with interment to follow in New Haven Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Timothy Wyrick, Paul Cohen, Larry Everly, Butch Crittenden, Michael Failing, Jimmy Wilson and Jonathan Wilson.
