Cale Z. Perkins, 17, of Sullivan, Missouri, passed away suddenly on Friday, June 20, 2025.
Cale Zeppelin Perkins was born on March 12, 2008, in Wooster, Ohio, Cale's early years were marked by a move to Bird Island, Minnesota, where he attended school for a brief period before settling in Missouri in 2018. Cale was attending Sullivan High School's alternative program and was on track to graduate early.
Cale's passion for technology was evident. He was a self-taught computer whiz, with a particular talent for computer engineering and coding. He enjoyed taking apart computers and learning their inner workings. Cale also loved to play various video games. He took great pride in his skin and hair care routines, often times sporting his favorite colored hair – pink.
Cale had a deep affection for animals, especially his beloved cat, Buttercup. His love for his pets was a reflection of his kind and compassionate spirit. Cale's aspirations reached far beyond his hometown; he dreamed of traveling to Japan and potentially pursuing a career in computer engineering there. In preparation for this dream, he had begun learning Japanese on his own.
Cale's presence was a source of joy and laughter for those around him. He was often described as the brightest mood in the room, radiating positivity and warmth. His love for his siblings was fierce and protective, and he was always ready to stand up for them. His taste in music was vibrant, with favorites including Sabrina Carpenter, Doja Cat, Chappel Roan, and the Black Eyed Peas.
Those who had the pleasure of knowing Cale will remember him as a funny, unique individual who was unapologetically himself. He was a sweet kid with a good heart, a great listener, and someone who possessed remarkable reasoning skills. His ability to see the good in situations and offer wise counsel beyond his years was a gift to all who sought his advice.
Cale is survived by his parents, Kayla Walters and significant other, Michael Cavender Jr. of Sullivan, Missouri; his father, Lou Perkins and wife Angelina Perkins of Cuba, Missouri; three brothers: Dax Perkins, Johnathan Perkins and Robin Cavender all of Sullivan, Missouri; his grandparents: Jeff Walters, Barb Walters, Michael Smith, Marie and Brian Zarn and Louis and Michelle Perkins; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
