Callie Harris Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 1, 2025.
Callie Sue Harris, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2025, at the age of 91 in Waxahachie, Texas. Born on September 18, 1934, in Blooming Grove, Texas, Callie's life was a testament to the power of selflessness and devotion.
As a young woman, Callie graduated high school with a bright vision for her future. She went on to work as a dedicated secretary at the Citizens Development Center for over 30 years, where her warmth and efficiency became the cornerstone of her professional life.
Callie embraced her Christian faith with fervor, living out its principles through her actions and interactions with everyone she met. Her life was a living sermon of the values she held dear-love, kindness, and selflessness.
Her love for gardening was evident in the vibrant blooms that adorned her home each season. Callie's hands, always ready to nurture and tend, found as much joy in the soil as they did in the lives of those around her. She was an avid volunteer, giving her time generously to causes that touched her heart and uplifted the community.
Family was the centerpiece of Callie's world. She was a loving wife to her late husband, Charles Harris, and a guiding light to her daughter, Kathy Barron (Troy), and her daughter, Karla Wright (Ron). Her legacy continued to blossom through her granddaughter, Tracy Gutierrez (Rolando), her grandson, James Fischer (Beth), and her granddaughters Nicole Jackson (Derrick) and Jessica Holt (Paxton).
Callie's joy multiplied with the birth of each great-grandchild: Brianna Lanham, Lilli Dollar (Gatlin), Daylen Jackson, Caden Jackson, Kayleigh Easley, Kinley Gutierrez, Jayde Holt, and Bella Fischer. The family circle expanded with the arrival of her great-great-granddaughter, Lila Dollar, who brought a new sparkle to Callie's eyes.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband Charles, her parents Joe and Myrtle McClure, and her seven siblings, Callie's memory will continue to be cherished and honored by her family and all who knew her.
Her daughters fondly recall the girls' trips that were filled with laughter, stories, and the simple joy of being together. These moments, now treasured memories, are a testament to Callie's love for adventure and family bonding.
As her family and friends reflect on Callie's life, they remember a woman who was the embodiment of love and selflessness. Her kind spirit and nurturing presence will be deeply missed, but the impact she made on the lives around her will continue to be felt for generations to come.
Callie Sue Harris lived a full life, rich with the love of her family and friends. Her legacy of kindness, her unwavering faith, and her dedication to her loved ones will forever be etched in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
