Carey Edward Tyree, 66, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2025. Born in Lubbock, Texas on December 28, 1958, he was the son of Charles Tyree and the late Sandra Adams Tyree.

In addition to his father, Carey is survived by his brothers, Chris Tyree of the home, Curt Tyree (Lisa) of Goldsboro, Adam Tyree (Vicki) of Greenville, Everett Tyree of Pikeville, and Andrew Tyree of the Home. Carey is also survived 5 nephews, 4 nieces, 6 great-nephews, and 8 great-nieces that he loved dearly.

Carey was a man of many passions. He found joy in ocean fishing, spent years collecting coins, and had a knack for delivering corny jokes that always brought a smile. He enjoyed playful debates, especially when it meant keeping things lively. Westerns and old cartoons were his go-to favorites, and he rarely missed a chance to tune in to Rush Limbaugh.

He will be remembered for his humor, his strong opinions, and the fun-loving spirit he shared with everyone around him.

The family will hold a private ceremony to celebrate Carey's life.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in memory of Carey.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Kenly Funeral Serivce.
