Carl Beachum, 87, passed away on May 15, 2025, in Carlsbad, New Mexico. A funeral service will be held at 1p.m. on Friday, May 23, 2025, at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, burial will follow at Carlsbad Cemetery (New Section). A visitation will take place from 1p.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at West Funeral Home. Carl D. Beachum Jr. was born on March 30, 1938, in Hubbard, Texas to Carl D. Beachum and Dorthea Carroll. On February 19, 1957, Carl and Velma were married in Carlsbad, New Mexico. He was baptized at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church on March 19, 2006. He enjoyed working vehicles, playing harmonica and listening to music. Carl was easy to get along with and he enjoyed telling jokes and visiting with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Velma Beachum, daughter Sandra Beachum, parents Carl D. Beachum, Sr. and Doretha Carroll, Sis Fay Ola King, nephew Jacky Lee King, great nephew Ryan Melendrez.
Carl is survived by daughters: Robbie Austin (Terry) of Corpus Christi, Tx, Sherry Beachum of Carlsbad, NM, Carla Jones (Webb) of San Antonio, TX, son Kirk Huff of Palmdale, CA, grandchildren Yon Austin, Terrah Austin, Sheree Armendarez, Amber Beachum, Jerry Jr. Armendarez, Jasmine Armendarez, Jeremy Armendarez, Tanisha Huff, Ashley Huff, Shakur Huff, Dadrian Huff, 18 great-grandchildren, niece Voncile King, great nieces Tammy King, Tangy King, special grand-daughter in love, Christal Ingram who dearly loved him, as well as a host of relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Willie Williams, Cecil Coleman, Jeremy Armendarez, Jerry Jr. Armendarez, Jaeden Cano, Cortez Campbell, Deron Broughton, Yon Austin.
Honary Pallbearers are Dick Young, John McNelty, Jimmy Crokett, Webb Jones, Terry Austin, Eric Pirtle
