Carl Wayne Bullick, age 79, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather known for his faith in God, gentle spirit, and quiet strength, passed away on his birthday, July 26, 2025. Born in Dewey, Oklahoma, Carl lived a life grounded in purpose, devotion, and love.

As a young man, Carl answered the call to serve his country with honor in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. After his military service, he continued to sharpen his skills through trade school, setting the foundation for a lifelong career with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. Carl dedicated over 35 years to the company, retiring with the same integrity and work ethic that marked every aspect of his life.

Carl married the love of his life, Claudia Jarvis, and together they raised two wonderful children—Jon and Stephanie. Their journey began in the heart of Oklahoma and, over two decades ago, led them to the scenic hills of Tennessee, where they settled to be closer to their children.

As a man of deep faith, Carl has always been actively involved in whatever church family he was a part of. He led his family to God and Rejoice Free Will Baptist Church in the 90s, where he served as a deacon and youth group chaperone. In recent years, Carl attended The Church at Station Hill, where he served as a deacon, door greeter for guest services, a vacation bible school volunteer, and anywhere he felt called to serve. He was a cherished member of the congregation and community. His faith was not only spoken but lived through acts of service, kindness, and the way he carried himself. His bible was always on the dining table and his study notes nearby, as he loved God’s word and studied it daily. He was known to often give words of encouragement to those around him.

As a certified Master Gardener, one of Carl’s greatest joys was gardening. Over the years, you could often find him working outside in his yard, enjoying the peace and reflection inspired by God’s creation. His dedication was even recognized once when he and Claudia were awarded “Garden Pond of the Year,” earning a place on the cover of a gardening magazine.

Carl’s life was not only a testament to his faithfulness but, more importantly, to God’s faithfulness. God honored Carl’s hard work with a life full of blessings. He leaves behind a legacy of love and faith through his family, the many lives he touched, and the gardens he grew.

He will be profoundly missed by his beloved wife, Claudia; his son, Jon; his daughter, Stephanie; his daughter-in-law, Raquel; his son-in-law, Scott; and his grandchildren—Briggs, Bryce, Bayza (Scott and Stephanie’s kids); and Isaac, Miguel and Rebeca (Jon and Raquel’s kids)—many relatives in Oklahoma and lifelong friends in OK and TN.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Spring Hill Memorial Funeral Home.
