MORTON – Carlos M. Rivera, 100, of Morton, passed away Friday, July 25, 2025, at Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton.

He was born on January 20, 1925, in Puerto Rico, to Federico and Petra (Marrero) Rivera. Carlos married Ann Stone on March 8, 1952, in Mississippi. She preceded him in death on July 11, 2014.

Carlos was also preceded in death by three grandchildren, Nicholas Rivera, Lauren Cardamone and Courtney Rivera; two brothers, Cesar and Juan and one sister, Carmen.

Surviving are his children, Carlos (Debbie) Rivera of Peoria, Arizona, Charles Rivera of Maumelle, Arkansas, Linda (Doug) Barth of Morton and Paul (Lynette) Rivera of Maumelle, Arkansas; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Carlos worked at Caterpillar Inc. for 28 years, retiring as an analyst in 1985.

His love for The Waltons television show led to his ability to recite not only the scene, but also the script for those watching with him. Carlos had a green thumb which led to one of the most beautiful yards in Morton. During his free time, Carlos found enjoyment and peace in feeding the birds, ducks and squirrels in the sanctuary of his yard.

He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Morton, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2025, with Fr. Adam Cesarek officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Roberts Cemetery in Morton.

Memorials may be made to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Morton.
